A powerful Typhoon Hato has made landfall in Hong Kong, forcing offices and schools to close and hundreds of flights to be cancelled.
The hurricane threat has been raised to 10, making it the highest level in Hong Kong for the first time in 5 years. Strong winds of up to 168 kilometres per hour have torn down trees, scaffolding and construction cranes. According to the government, so far, two people have been injured and around 200 people have sought refuge.
Concordia and our Associate in Hong Kong will continue to establish the extent of damage and offer our expertise in the handling of claims, including commercial and high value property, building code evaluations, construction and business interruption.
From our London head office we are able to liaise with UK and International insurers and reinsurers as required to provide a full end to end service.
