Concordia staff raise over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK
7th October 2011
As night fell on London on Saturday 1st October, over 10,000 walkers assembled in the O2 Arena in Greenwich, London to start power walking the streets of East London to raise money and awareness for Cancer Research UK.
Two of these walkers were Concordia staff Clare Penny and Louise May. They power-walked the 14 mile course in just three and half hours, raising over £1,000 for the charity.
Cancer affects one in four people in the UK population and on this evening alone over £2 million was raised to aid the research in curing the disease.
